This machinelike adjustable seatpost has threesome positions, and uses a cap grouping for locking, a far telegram actuation for release, and expose spring for return. The place is an raise of last year’s Command Post, and includes innovative quick-release remote, threesome shitting options, reinforced internals and lighter weight. Collectively, the minor improvements and attenuated toll attain it an outstanding seatpost in the highly competitive adjustable seatpost market.
Command Post BlackLite The Command Post BlackLite (CP) is a machinelike 3-position protection height-adjustable seatpost, that comes in 75, 100 and 125mm ranges, and has a bar mounted remote, and single decamp adjusted command clamp system. It’s available in 30.9mm and 31.6mm diameters, 75, 100 and 125mm shitting options, and 330, 380 and 405mm lengths, respectively. The threesome height settings are the Power function or flooded extension, Cruiser, which is 35mm beneath Power, and the Descender, which is the minimal shitting position, or 75, 100, 125mm beneath Power. The CP uses a machinelike cap to hair the attack in position, and telegram tumbler actuation to release the cap for up and downbound movement, and expose dominated spring for return. The nous is bonded into the shaft, and it uses a threefold keyway design to ready the passing winding at a minimum, and things are fortified by triple-lipped tangency with Dual-Lip X-Ring seal. The far grouping has a quick-release at the head, and h as an inline containerful investigator for telegram tension. The CP weighs 500, 530 and 545 grams, for the increasing shitting options.
Installation I first checked the pressure via its Schrader valve, which is settled on the lowermost of the post. The pressure range is 20-40 psi, with higher psi causing a faster rebound. Mine was at the minimum of 25 psi (factory default), so I accumulated it to 30 psi, since I liked a quicker movement. The intromission Atlantic of the place has a rough finish, which functions as anti-slippage zone, and helps prevent any creeping,
The far crapper be desegrated with Specialized protection grips, in which it replaces the lock, or mounted separately on the handlebar, and I opt the latter. I settled the far tight up against my left Magura MT8 brake, and eyeballed the required telegram structure length, and revilement the excess off. I then settled where I wanted the inline investigator to be located, revilement the cable, and spliced the inline country into the housing. I threaded the telegram through the remote, the noodle and housing, and finally into the barrel. Measure discover 17mm between the structure cap and the lowermost of the barrel, and alter it, and move it into the slot, and vantage the structure downbound into its guide.
Installing the command is an cushy duty due to the digit decamp and adjusted junky clamp, which use a triangle and rail clamp that apiece has a groove that holds the saddle’s rails. Just loosen the decamp wide enough, so that the triangle and clamp module earmark the rails to imbibe into the slot, and function the command forward and aft, and its flat pitch, and then clamp the decamp downbound tight using a 5mm hex. Make trusty that the comely force (120 in-lb/13.5 Nm) is applied to the bolt, added it the command crapper lean at an inopportune moment. To action the test tuning, move the remote, and press downbound on the command to the region position, and permit go. If the centre pops up loosen the telegram with the inline containerful adjuster, and if the centre won’t go down, alter the cable. The sweet spot where the cable’s enmity entireness right is small, and micro turns of the containerful investigator is all it takes, but erst it’s settled t he grouping entireness like a charm.

Is any one having the same problem, my first Specialized Command Post Blacklite was replaced by Specialized UK for excessive play, it’s failed after just 5 rides, my replacement Blacklite did not return to the power position out of the box, so I cycled it 20 – 30 to free it up and it instantly had side to side play. Three Specialized representatives have advised some play to be expected and that it will get worse as the unit wears, but none of them would give me an engineering answer to acceptable design tolerances. See my video of both new Blacklites here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgzJ_FRdgQg
