We’ve known Chris Sugai for the last heptad years and we’ve ever viewed him as one of the true innovators of the cycle industry.  He is not only a intellectual in cycle  trends  but also in impact style and flexibility. In 2004, he co-founded consort Niner Bikes with Steve Domahidy. Steve was the field and design intellectual while  Chris ran the consort and sold the 29er ‘Kool Aid’ to the riding public.  They both believed in the realistic office surround as Chris lived in Southern California and Steve in Colorado.
In 2005, Chris dropped by our Sea Otter booth most five nowadays until we finally rode his odd image bike. It was diminutive but it had huge wheels. It had no gears, no tubes and wide bars.  He titled it a 29er and he said his consort module only build singlespeed 29ers. Man, talk most status multiplied by niche.  My prototypal notion was that Chris was passionate but disturbed and he had risked his livelyhood on a pipe dream.  But then I took this big wheeled cycle on one lap on the Sea Otter instruction and my mind was denaturized forever.  I certain him to permit me race the cycle the incoming period for my event and  I got him to send me a test cycle right away.
Here’s a unification to the rattling prototypal cycle we tried from Niner:Â Mtbr Review of 2005 Niner One 9
We’ve been happy ever since and hit ever had a Niner cycle in the stable. Â Next week, we intend an Air 9 Carbon that we module lighten and behave to its fullest abilities. We can’t wait.
Chris and Niner hit been on a  long travelling to intend to this saucer and the 29er landscape is very, rattling assorted now.  Steve Domahidy is  no individual with the consort but they ease benefit from his field contributions and intellectual ideas.  With Chris at the helm an and a top-notch aggroup distribute crossways the country, Niner is in good hands.
